Summer Programs 2025

For June of 2025, a four-week summer program is being offered.  For current K-7 grade students this will be by invitation only. High School credit recovery will be available to all current 9-11 grade students who qualify. All current 8th graders transitioning to High School next year are eligible for Freshman Academy.

8-11

Freshmen Academy — This FREE summer program is for current 8th grade students to support the transition from middle school to high school while building math, reading and AVID study skills. With successful completion of this program, students will obtain a semester of an elective high school credit. (Hosted by ALL TUSD High Schools and TUVA for incoming TUVA Freshman. (UHS students attend Boost and should contact UHS for information.)

Due to the Summer Bond Project, there are some changes in Freshman Academy locations for the following High Schools: 
Catalina High School will be at Doolen Middle School
Sabino High School will be at Santa Rita High School
Tucson High Magnet School will be at Project More

 

High School Summer Program — For current high school students looking for credit recovery options. Students will be qualified by their home school for Credit Recovery if: 
  • Current TUSD Student 
  • Failing grade in English and Math course(s) 
  • Credit deficient, 9th-11th grade and student is three or more credits deficient, any high school course required for graduation 
  • Any senior with a credit deficiency 
Due to the Summer Bond Project, there are some changes in Credit Recovery locations for the following High Schools: 
Catalina High School will be at Rincon/UHS
Sabino High School will be at Santa Rita High School
Tucson High Magnet School (a.m. sessions) choose Pueblo or Cholla High School
Tucson High Magnet School (p.m. sessions) will be at Palo Verde High Magnet School


AP Bootcamp — Introduces any high school student to Advanced Placement curriculum and rigor. Held in-person at all high schools except Cholla and UHS. Contact your counselor for additional information

FREE Summer Meals — Food Services will be providing FREE breakfast and lunch for Summer Program Students

K-7

Students receive ELA and Math instruction in small groups. Held in-person by invitation only at elementary, K-8 and middle school hub sites. Please contact your school for further information.  Will be held online for TUVA students.
