Tucson Unified has been awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget by the Government Finance Officers Association. The award reflects the commitment of the Governing Board and TUSD staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
To receive an award, the district had to meet nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation, including:
- a policy document
- a financial plan
- an operations guide
- a communications device
Out of the 28 entities in Arizona that were awarded by GFOA, Tucson Unified is the only school district in the state, and one of only 12 school districts nationwide, to be awarded this year.
