New Mural at Howenstine Professional Learning Center

Howenstine Professional Learning Center got a fresh coat of paint in one of its hallways over the summer, transforming the space into a Sonoran Desert landscape.

The design was created by Tucson Unified's art curator, Leanne Miller. She collaborated with Heidi Aranda, Senior Director of Curriculum Development, and Carrie Burden, Program Manager of Professional Deveopment, to enhance Howenstine with a selection of multicultural artifacts from the Educational Materials Center (EMC) and an original hand-painted mural.

The mural is 40 feet long and five feet tall and took 55 hours to complete. Thank you, Leanne, for your artistry and representation of the remarkable talents of Tucson Unified employees!
