Roberts – Naylor K-8 Principal Bernadette Rosthenhausler-Espinoza has been with the district for 6 years and played teacher in the shed in the backyard as a child. Years later she encouraged her younger brother Frank Rosthenhausler to go back to school. He reflects, “It’s not a secret I was not on a good path.”
Frank AKA ‘Mr. R’ is the principal at Pueblo High School and has been with TUSD for more than 20 years. Their parents, a coach and a school monitor, have tough talks with them to this day, telling them to be courageous and do their best.
Frank says of his sister, “She gives me this ‘no fear’ attitude. It’s OK to challenge the status quo and to pursue greatness.” Bernadette says she gets motivation, competitiveness and support from Frank. “Pueblo is a great community. I have a freshman and a sophomore there. One of them is in the Ivy League program. After I leave this home (Roberts-Naylor) that’s my other home (Pueblo), “she said.
Thank you for pursuing greatness here. We are so proud to have you on our #TeamTUSD!
