On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Tucson Unified held our 13th Annual Transition Fair, hosted by TUSD’s Community Transition Programs. This event is held annually as an opportunity for students, families and teachers to learn more about TUSD’s in-school transition programs, disability support service providers available to students and families, and community agencies.
This year we were lucky enough to host 26 different agencies and programs, and attendees were able to connect with employment support services, postsecondary resources, recreation opportunities and more! We had 24 students/families who attended from seven different high schools (which does not include some enthusiastic attendees who slipped by the sign-in table on their way to chat with service providers).
Students enjoyed learning about the Kind Stitches embroidery machine, meeting student interns, learning about options through the Public Library, and talking about future work ideas with service providers. It was a great event this year, and we look forward to continuing to check-in with our students throughout the year about how to make progress with and achieve their postsecondary goals.
