TUSD Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo has been named the 2022 AZALAS Superintendent of the Year.
The Arizona Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (AZALAS) works to provide professional development and support programs for educators who serve Latino students. Each year, they honor an outstanding school leader from across Arizona.
Dr. Trujillo was recognized for helping TUSD make academic gains, holding community forums to engage families, and providing equitable educational access for all students.
Dr. Trujillo received his award during the AZALAS Annual Conference, held November 6-7, 2022, and was celebrated for his achievement during the November 15, 2022 Governing Board meeting.
