Sabino High School was designated by the National Athletic Trainers' Association as being a Safe Sports School.
The program recognizes high schools around the country that take important steps to keep their athletes injury-free, such as creating a positive athletic health care system and developing injury and illness prevention strategies.
Palo Verde High Magnet School and Sabino High School are among less than a dozen schools in Arizona holding this distinction.
