Wakefield Middle School at a Glance

Wakefield is an Advanced Academic Coursework (AAC) campus. Each class is either Accelerated or Honors and serve as a gateway to not only high school, but college and career readiness and success. These courses provide culturally and personally relevant activities designed to engage students in problem solving, academic discourse, and critical analysis through a Project Based Learning (PBL) lens.

Josephine Lane, a US veteran and mother of three, transitioned from military service to become a distinguished educator and administrator. With a career expanding decades, Mrs. Lane's expertise as an educator and principal has left an indelible mark on countless students and communities. Her leadership prowess has been evident in her transformative initiatives aimed at enhancing student achievement and holistic development. Lane's blend of military discipline and pedagogical expertise, combined with her dedication as a mother, has positioned her a a beacon of inspiration in the field of education.
