C.E. Rose PreK-8 School at a Glance
C. E. Rose K-8 is a high performing, urban school that employs the system outlined in “The Leader in Me,” a school-wide program designed to foster character and discipline along with academic achievement.
Our classrooms and grade levels flow from one teacher to the next, providing students with a consistent and rigorous learning environment. The transition from library to classroom to cafeteria to the playground is quiet and orderly, and the students wear uniforms. We’re also the only K-8 school in Tucson Unified offering esports, giving students opportunities to learn about coding, software and other STEM fields.

Alma Carmona-Alday
I attended and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Fine Arts. Soon after graduation, I began my teaching career as a Bilingual Kindergarten Teacher at Robison Elementary School in 2001. I later taught at Oyama Elementary School as a Bilingual Kindergarten and First Grade teacher. In 2003, I received my second Bachelor's in Spanish. Then, in 2006, I received my Master’s degree in School Counseling. During the spring of 2006, I began working as a School Guidance Counselor at Drachman Montessori Magnet School. I then transitioned to the role of a Learning Support Coordinator at Mary Belle McCorkle Academy of Excellence in 2011. In 2013, I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership and was named a Rodel Aspiring Principal by the Rodel Foundation of Arizona. For the past two years I was an Assistant Principal at Pueblo Magnet High School. These great experiences have prepared me for my work here at C.E. Rose. I am knowledgeable of the academic and personal/social needs of students as they enter Preschool and understand what students need as they transition from primary, middle school and into high school and beyond.
Beliefs:
I value the importance of having high expectations and believe that all of our students will benefit from having their gifts and talents cultivated through our educational process. It is my belief that our students should have as many opportunities as possible to succeed and that we as their educational community should nourish their love for learning. Most important, students and families will be valued, respected, and have a sense of belonging.
Personal:
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and am a product of TUSD. I am the youngest of three and am very blessed and fortunate to have a wonderful family. My husband and I will be celebrating our 9th anniversary of being married and we have a 7 year old son and a 5 year old daughter. I love being a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and a cousin.
