Three TUSD Teachers Earn HSL Teacher Appreciation Awards

A partnership between KVOA and HSL Properties recognizes local teachers for their dedication through HSL Teacher Appreciation Awards. This year, three Tucson Unified teachers were selected for the award through a community voting process.

Safford Spanish teacher Martha Vasquez, Robison preschool teacher Mitza Molina and Davis second grade teacher Sonia Castellanos were all surprised with the presentation of a $1,000 check in their classrooms.

During her award presentation on August 29, Ms. Castellanos was seranaded by Las Aguilitas de Davis, and her nominator Chantall Ralls and her daughter Maddie who was in Ms. Castellanos' class year were part of the joyful celebration.

"This is for every teacher - every teacher deserves this!", Ms. Castellanos said to the crowd as she accepted the check. Congratulations to all our teacher awardees, and thank you to KVOA and HSL Properties!
