Ben's Bells Collaboration with Community Transition Programs

Kind Stitches is a unique collaboration between Ben’s Bells and Tucson Unified School District’s (TUSD) Community Transition Programs. Young adult students with disabilities gain valuable vocational skills in retail work and apparel design while promoting the “be kind” message central to Ben’s Bells. Every item embroidered by Kind Stitches helps fund Ben’s Bells’ open art studios and kindness education programs, furthering the mission to inspire intentional acts of kindness.

Last week, students from the Advanced Community Training Program took over the operation of the Ben’s Bells Studio in Main Gate Square. They now guide volunteer groups, manage the retail shop and operate an industrial embroidery machine at TUSD's Main Gate Collaborative Art Studio, applying these skills in real-time work situations within the community.
