Catalina Magnet High School's Finding Voice Project will hold a retrospective exhibition (2006-2009) of photographs and words by Finding Voice students. The exhibition will be held October 16 – November 13, 2009 at the Union Gallery, 3rd Floor of the Student Union, University of Arizona. Through their images, words, and digital stories students will take you on a very personal journey from the countries they emigrated from – Afghanistan, Bhutan, Ghana, India, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Kuwait, Liberia, Mexico, Nepal, Marshall Islands, Russia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Vietnam – to a Tucson you have likely never seen before. A reception will be held Friday, October 16 from 5-7pm. An artist talk begins at 6pm. There will be a panel discussion on Thursday, November 5 from 5-7pm called "Voice & Identity: Issues of Representation in Visual and Literary Arts," featuring local artists and educators.
