The Tucson Unified School District is hosting a Festival of Schools at the Reid Park Zoo on Saturday, November 7, 2009. The Festival is sponsored by Tucson Electric Power Co. and Zoo admission is free from 9am - 1pm. The Festival will give families the opportunity to visit with staff from all of the different schools within TUSD while enjoying the beautiful habitats and exotic animals from around the world.
At the Festival, TUSD will be presenting the Catalog of Schools. TUSD has the amazing opportunity to offer over 100 different learning environments to families, and all of them produce the same, important outcomes for students. No matter which school you choose, your child will learn important "content" or information and develop important skills for their futures, including communication, creativity, critical thinking, financial literacy, and a global perspective, to name a few. TUSD is committed to providing Tucson families with the opportunity to choose exactly the right learning environment for their children. The Catalog is designed to assist families in making a selection from the 100+ schools to find the best fit for their children.
Families can pick up a Catalog at the entrance to the Zoo. As you travel from South America to the Asian rainforest and on to the African savannah, you will be able to speak directly with school staff about the different opportunities available to their students. If the school of your choice is not in your attendance area, School Choice forms will be available to take home and fill out with your choice. Open enrollment begins November 16th. All School Choice forms should be returned to: TUSD-School Community Services, 1010 E. 10th St., Tucson AZ 85719.
