The Central Arizona Project will deliver donated school supplies to Hohokam Middle School, 7400 S. Settler Road, on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Supplies, such as paper, pencils, binders and backpacks will be on the truck, as well as hygiene items and maroon-and khaki-colored clothing for school uniforms. The donations are expected to arrive sometime between 9:30-10 a.m.

The supplies have been donated by CAP employees at various Arizona work sites.

"I value our community partnership with Central Arizona Project, said Hohokam Principal John T. Michel. "CAP has been very generous to Hohokam Middle School since their employee outreach began in 2003. Student recipients of CAP donations exhibit a sense of pride when uniform donations are available. CAP donations help students complete in-class presentations and homework.

CAP is a 336-mile-long system that annually brings about 1.5 million acre-feet of Colorado River water to its customers-cities, businesses, agriculture and Indian communities-in Pima, Pinal and Maricopa counties. An acre- foot of water is about 326,000 gallons.
