of student athletes and their schools.

TUSD's Director of Interscholastics Herman House and Assistant Superintendent for High Schools Dr. Abel Morado, created the Superintendent's Cup as a way to highlight the excellence in the district's sports programs.

"TUSD's athletics programs are an enduring source of pride for our student athletes, parents and our communities," says House. "The Superintendent's Cup was created to promote the academic, athletic and personal achievements of our student athletes and their schools."

The cup is awarded to the school that has achieved the highest standard in its athletic program. Sabino lead all other schools in accrued point totals in state tournament participation and results, school teams' grade point average, Pursuing Victory with Honor points (TUSD's sportsmanship program), and individual and team post-season awards.

Sabino will display the cup for the upcoming school year. The trophy will travel to and be on display at the high school that is awarded the honor each year.
