Governing Board Proclamation (in PDF)

Social Work Month

The Governing Board has proclaimed March as Social Work Month in Tucson Unified School District in recognition of the contributions that social workers make to support children and families.

Professional social workers tackle some of the toughest challenges facing our society. Social workers work with individuals, families, schools, universities, non-profit agencies, corporations, hospitals, and government offices to mediate conflict, foster positive relationships and create hope and opportunity for people in need.

In schools, professional social workers work with families and the schools to ensure students reach their full academic and personal potential.

For more information about the important role that social workers provide in our schools and in the broader community, see the National Association of Professional Social Workers website.
