Team Weight Loss Challenge

The team losing the highest percentage of the team's total body weight wins these prizes:

1st Prize - $100 Target gift card for every member of the team
2nd Prize - $50 Target gift card for every member of the team
3rd Prize - $20 Target gift card for every member of the team

PLUS - free massage day for top three schools with the highest percentage of participation!

The Rules

  1. Form a team of three to five people.
  2. Pick a team name.
  3. Weigh in with your health clerk or wellness coach.
  4. Exercise! Eat healthy! Support each other!
  5. Weigh out during the scheduled weigh-outs held April 1 - 5.

Kick-Off Date

Tuesday, January 29, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the cafeteria at 1010 E. Tenth St.

Sign up your team before Jan. 29 to be entered into a drawing for a free gym bag with the "tools for success."

Request a special "biggest loser workout" with a wellness coach at your school (limit one per school) by emailing coach Stephanie Boyden at Stephanie.Boyden@tusd1.org.

Weigh-In/Weigh-Out Dates

The following weigh-in/weigh-out dates are conducted by a wellness coach. You can also have your health clerk conduct the weigh-ins and weigh-outs. If weigh-in/weigh-outs are conducted by the health clerk, have the health clerk email the individual and team weights to coach Stephanie Boyden at Stephanie.Boyden@tusd1.org.

Fall 2012 Fitness Programs

The following fitness classes are available for TUSD employees. With the exception of Zumba Dance (which charges a $5.00 fee), these classes are offered free. All levels will be included. Bring a mat or towel and water and wear a smile and comfortable clothing.

  • Muscle Pump
    A high-intensity work-out mixing cardio and weights.
    Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00-6:00 p.m., Maroon Room at 1010
  • Body Attack
    A combo-class with strength-training and cardio.
    Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Catalina High Dance Room
  • Power Yoga
    Stretch and strengthen in this power yoga class.
    Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00 p.m., Gridley Middle School
  • Zumba Dance
    It's an all-out fitness party... music, dancing, and fun for all!
    Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Santa Rita High Dance Room
    Note: there is a $5.00 fee for attending this class.

About our Programs

We offer a range of fitness programs at different times, so there's sure to be something that fits your interests and schedule. All employees are invited to participate.

Participants are encouraged to work at their own level and pace and various levels of intensity will be demonstrated to create a successful atmosphere for all.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you can move easily in.
