Technology Oversight Committee

Purpose

The Technology Oversight Advisory Committee will represent the broad Tucson Unified Schools stakeholder community. The committee will serve as a vehicle for public communication and education on technology matters.

Commitments

Committee members will review district plans to help ensure that they are adequate to support the district’s educational objectives, are cost-effective, and compatible with realistic projections of future needs and investments. In addition, they will:

Participate in the approval process for Requests for Information, Requests for Proposals, and Requests for Quotes;
Help the district to set priorities for new initiatives and spending;
Provide close oversight of the spending of any new revenues raised through voter-approved tax increases; and,
Review compliance with established district policies, plans and procedures, and state and federal law.

The committee will meet at least monthly and report to the district’s Governing Board annually, or more often as needed. Members will have initial appointments of two years.
