Dr. H.T. Sánchez, superintendent of Tucson Unified School District, has been named one of the "Superintendents to Watch" by the National School Public Relations Association.
The recognition honors superintendents with less than five years of experience in the role who demonstrate "dynamic leadership with a strong emphasis on communication." Dr. Sánchez is among 25 superintendents from around the nation to be recognized. One other Arizona superintendent, D. Mario Ventura from Isaac School District No. 5 in Phoenix, also made the list.
Adelita Grijalva, president of the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board, said the recognition is well deserved.
"I’m proud that Dr. Sánchez has received national attention for his leadership and the hard work he does for the community," she said.To read more about the recognition and view the list of honorees, please go to http://www.nspra.org/superintendents-watch-winners
