Parent and Child Education (PACE)

The Parent and Child Education (PACE) programs give support to parents, who are the first and most important teachers of children. In these programs, the home and school partner to become an important educational team.

Our philosophy supports the belief that parents and teachers working together maximize each child's potential by building on the knowledge and skills that have been acquired from culture, language, and past experiences.

The program includes:

engaging learning experiences and projects.
parent workshops and new friends.
field trips.
family style meals.
dental, vision, and hearing screening.
exciting indoor and outdoor play activities.

The PACE program follows the guidelines of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services, Office of Childcare Licensure.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for PACE, the following requirements must be met:

The child must be four years old by August 31 of the current school year.
The child's family must reside within the attendance areas of TUSD.
The family income must fall within the guidelines established by the USDA Child Nutrition Program for free and reduced meals.
The child must participate in a screening process in May. Children who will most benefit from the program will be selected.
