In the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2015 is the Year of the Sheep, which begins on February 19, 2015 and ends on February 7, 2016. The Sheep is the eighth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animals Signs. The Sheep is the calm, gentle, creative, and thoughtful one of the Animal Signs. People born in the Year of the Sheep are mild. They prefer to be in groups, but do not like to be the center of attention. They spend much of their time in self-reflection and dwelling on their thoughts. In Chinese Astrology, the Year of the Sheep will bring serenity and peace. See the Resources page for educational activities for Lunar New Year.
The Year of the Sheep will be celebrated on Friday, February 20, 2015, in an event hosted by Asian Pacific American Student Services. The celebration includes performances by dancers and musicians representing Japanese, Chinese, Hawaiian, Bhutanese-Nepali, and Korean cultures. See the Year of the Sheep Celebration Flier (in PDF) for more information. (Please note: this event is full and no longer accepting reservations.)
