Dance
TUSD's dance programs are varied and dynamic. There are creative dance programs at the elementary schools through the OMA project. At many middle schools, folklorico, modern and ballroom are offered. These classes are also offered at many high schools with some schools including jazz, ballet and tap. Visiting dancers giving master classes are an integral part of these programs. Drama
Drama in TUSD begins in elementary school as creative drama introduced through opera and drama in the OMA program. Drama programs in middle and high schools are thriving and growing throughout TUSD, allowing students to excel in the skills of speaking, program presentation, and technical aspects of the theatre. Fine Arts Performance Calendar for Drama and Dance (PDF)
Visual Arts
TUSD Fine and Performing Arts Department has developed an array of visual arts resources to aid classroom teachers, including Wednesday in-school staff development, after school teacher workshops at Educational Materials Center, and online downloadable visual arts lessons. Educational Materials Center, TUSD’s world class professional library, contains a wide variety of art prints, sculpture, artifacts, videos and books available for classroom use. Read more…
Instrument Repair
TUSD's instrument repair shop is a very productive facility that repairs and renovates all District-owned musical instruments. TUSD owns over 10,000 musical instruments that are used free of charge by students in the TUSD schools. Read more...
Fine Arts Youth Academy
Fine Arts Youth Academy (FAYA) offers a summer program of study in fine and performing arts. FAYA is supported jointly by Arts Express and Tucson Unified School District. Read more...
