301 Pay for Performance Plan amendment:

Important information for former eligible employees

Request to Return as a Full-Time Classroom Teacher: In Fillable PDF

If you worked for Tucson Unified School District during the 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015 or 2015-2016 school years and were eligible for a Fund 12 payment under the applicable 301 Pay for Performance Plan, then you can now be hired and placed into a classroom teacher position, subject to district hiring policies and procedures, and you can participate in the 301 Pay for Performance Plan for 2016-2017.

The 301 Pay for Performance Plan for 2016-2017 was amended on December 13, 2016, in order to give former teachers in this position the opportunity to participate in this school year's Pay for Performance plan.

These individuals need to be hired and placed into a classroom teacher position on or before January 17, 2017, to be eligible to participate in this year's 301 Plan.

For those returning to classroom teaching positions under the amended 301 Plan, the payment eligibility criteria outlined in the 2016-2017 301 Pay for Performance Plan must be timely completed or the employee must have received written permission from the Chief Human Resource Officer before February 22, 2017 to extend the deadline for satisfaction of the eligibility criteria to a date no later than March 15, 2017.


Qualified employees who are currently with the district and are interested in returning to a classroom teacher position under article (g) of the amendment should submit a Request to Return as a Full-Time Classroom Teacher form (in PDF) to Chief Human Resource Officer Anna Maiden on or before Monday, December 19, 2016, to be placed to start as classroom teacher on January 9, 2016. These employees will be placed into a classroom teacher position at the District's discretion, based on their current certifications, with preference being given to magnet school vacancies.


Former employees interested in returning to work for the District as classroom teachers should likewise submit a Request to Return as a Full-Time Classroom Teacher form (in PDF) to the Chief Human Resource Officer by Monday, December 19, 2016. In addition, former employees must also submit an application for a teacher position on the District's AppliTrack system. Here is a link to the AppliTrack system: http://jobs.tusd1.org.


Individuals who retired less than a year ago cannot return to work directly for the District as full-time teachers due to the potential financial penalties under the Arizona State Retirement System and state law ARS 38-766 to the individual and to the District.
