    Over 3 days, more than 3,000 8th graders will benefit from hands-on activities with our Career and Technical Education teachers at the High School Expo.






    Weekly, Early Childhood Education students from Pueblo High mentor students at Hollinger K-8 and C.E. Rose K-8. Here are some reflections from the Pueblo High Teacher Cadets:


    P.D. “I was really excited to go and I loved the experience of being able to help little kids with their work and their needs. I was surprised to see that the kids’ conduct was good.”


    A.L. “Some things I saw different from my elementary years were them learning how to write in cursive. That's neat how their learning that because I’ve always wanted to learn how to write in cursive.”


    I.H.  “The feeling it gave me was a happy feeling, the kids made me laugh, they were so sweet and small.”

  • 2018 SKY SCHOOL

    Pueblo, Santa Rita and Tucson High CTE students are participating in UA Science Sky School on Mt. Lemmon this semester. Following the 1st session, UA Sky School posted on their online media feed: " Pueblo's first year at Sky School did not disappoint! These students were open to new ideas, asked great questions, and were about the kindest group of kids we've ever seen. We can't wait to see where the future takes them!"




  • Catalina Construction Students' Summer Job!

    Under the guidance of CTE Instructor Jack Draper, and Industry Partners, select students from Catalina Construction Technologies program worked at Santa Rita High updating their facility and preparing the future Dental Assisting program.

    September 21, 2017, Tucson Unified CTE students, teachers, industry partners, parents and additional stakeholders were welcomed to the Catalina High School library with a hot breakfast prepared and served by Catalina Culinary students. The day was spent collaborating in an effort to evaluate and improve our CTE programs. 

    The current cycle of review included these programs: Automotive, Electronics, Engineering, Law and Public Safety, Pharmacy Tech, Precision Machining, Software Development, Sports Medicine and Welding.

    Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) National Champions were honored at the September 26, 2017 Governing Board Meeting. 

    Representing SkillsUSA, from Tucson High Magnet School were Advisers, Pete Pedersen and Jarold Zivic with GOLD medal winner Nur Tanbal and SILVER medal winner, Jonathan McCullough.

    Representing FCCLA from Cholla High were Advisor Gloria Nelson and Bronze medal winner, Caroline Farkas; Rincon High: Mary Perry and GOLD medal winner, Jessica Class.

  • Lucy Swift, Legendary Teacher of the Year

    Tucson Unified and Pima County JTED honor Cholla Magnet teacher Lucy Swift as the 2016 Legendary Teacher of the Year.

  • Hidden Figures screening for CTE students

    On February 27, 2017, 122 Career and Technical Education female students were inspired by the film Hidden Figures. Students earned the opportunity to attend by their exemplar participation in Career and Technical Education courses.
